{"id":197,"date":"2017-03-24T10:19:16","date_gmt":"2017-03-24T08:19:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stephane.runde.photography\/en\/?p=197"},"modified":"2020-09-20T20:05:03","modified_gmt":"2020-09-20T18:05:03","slug":"major","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stephane.runde.photography\/en\/general\/major\/","title":{"rendered":"Major in honor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Major in honor article in <\/p>\n<h3>Major in honor<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In 2016, took place\u00a0the renovation of the two steeples\u00a0of the Cathedral Saint-Marie-Majeur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In parallel, the esplanade that surrounds the building has been redesigned by Bruno Fortier, and the stone entablature under the cathedral square (the vaults of the Major) has been transformed into shops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This work undertaken within the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean project aims at restoring the nineteenth-century building and its direct environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A special lighting was also put in place to stage this exceptional building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Cathedral\u00a0is not the only one involved in a renovation program. Below the bell towers, &#8220;La Vieille Major&#8221; built in the 11th century, has benefited from a consolidation project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The commitment of the people involved in the rehabilitation of the Cathedral neighborhood inspired me the image below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Entitled Wrapped Major, I wanted to highlight the dressing and the scaffolding installed for the renovation.
